Formerly Young Arts and Arts in the Community
Arts Volunteering provides children, young people, adults and groups with exciting opportunities to get involved in creative arts activities, encouraging them to form a lasting enthusiasm for the arts. Our vision is equality of opportunity for all to learn through participation in the arts.
There is no set format; projects vary according to local circumstances and range from funding a school’s art materials to organising an arts award. At a time when arts education is under pressure and funding is being reduced, our Societies are well placed to help.
Some of the projects supported by the North East Societies include:
- Artists in residence
- Workshops in schools
- Funding for gallery and museum visits
- Art Exhibitions
- Bursaries/awards for individual students
- Support for asylum seekers and refugees
